Since retiring, my interests have shifted significantly from hard science to environmental, educational, and health care issues.
I believe that humankind must recognize and accept that economic growth as we know it cannot be sustained. I believe that humanity for its best interest, must accept the stewardship of our planet. Our planet must be preserved and restored even if some of us may eventually have to migrate from it.
I do not believe that warfare, disease, or neglect of others' needs are acceptable means of population control.
I do not believe that the development of AI can be effectively controlled or regulated by humanity so that it always serves our needs. Cyberspace is the new reality for much of our experiences. Parts of us will live and die there.
