Hegseth has ordered an in-person meeting of all high level US military command

SUMMARY

The in-person meeting ordered by Hegseth for all high-level US military command at Quantico poses a significant operational risk by concentrating senior military leaders in one location, creating a catastrophic single point of failure. Speculation suggests that the meeting may serve as a platform for a "night of the long knives" style purge, aimed at eliminating potential resistance within the ranks. Trump’s address indicated a shift towards preparing military leaders for internal conflict, framing dissent as an invasion akin to foreign threats. This unprecedented gathering raises concerns about the motivations behind such a drastic measure.

This creates a stunning operational risk with the concentration of the entire senior military command structure in a single, known location, creating a catastrophic single point of failure. Any rational justification must have a goal so critical that it outweighs this immense risk.

My money is on a night of the long knives style purge, but I am prepared to consider alternatives. Getting the generals away from their command staff to prevent the possibility of institutional resistance and then disposing of them (through firing or otherwise), appears to be the most likely justification that I can think of.

Wouldn't surprise me.

I'm at least half of the mindset that when we find out what reason for the meeting was, if we do, we'll all be saying something like "Really? He dragged everyone across the planet for THAT?"

EG maybe he wants to tell everyone that if there is a gov't shutdown any public complaints need to put all the blame on Shumer, or some critical policy position like that that can only be delivered with sufficient gravity f2f, in his FOX pundit mind.

A senior Pentagon correspondent has said, "I've never seen anything like this in the past 30 years. We might be going to war."

But at the same time, apparently we haven't needed to summon hundreds of generals to Quantico to go to war before?

Trump addressed the generals to say that they must be prepared to attack fellow Americans and he is declaring a war against those within.

“San Francisco and Chicago, New York, Los Angeles… We'll straighten them out one-by-one. It will be a major part for some of the people in this room. It’s a war too. It’s a war from within.”

...

“We’re under invasion from within, no different than a foreign enemy, but more difficult in many ways, because they don’t wear uniforms,” Trump says.
