I don't fully understand how all this is happening, but Jack Smith has been in the news recently for continuing on with his investigations from before Trump reassumed the presidency.
He now has recording of Trump and others making plans about hiding their purloined secret documents and the January 6 events.
Smith wants to put this stuff into the public. It is unlikely that simple judicial actions will bring down Trump (Thanks Supreme Court!), but the effect on their credibility and popularity could be important.
The Epstein files, could also put significant hits on both his popularity and credibility. It is also causing crack in the MAGA empire (check out M.T.Green recently). There are rumors of a GOP "jail break" of GOPers. They have been restrained by party loyalty and pressure, but many want the Epstein info out and are thinking of making a jail break and break with GOP dogma on the issue.
Once a break on one issue is made, breaks on others are easier. Its a big issue.

This video covers the recent Jack Smith :

I mostly like this guy's videos and recommend them. He's detailed and not over-excited.

Trump will almost certainly target Jack Smith and rev his engine of misinformation against him. His minions and zombie cultists won't budge.

Agreed.

I think you underestimate the diversity of the MAGA population. It is also changing over time.
Marjory Taylor Green and some others are obvious examples.
And has it changed Trump at all? Honestly, I don't think any of it matters. Trump is the mafia boss. He doesn't care what anyone thinks. He's making money and living the dream. As long as congress does his bidding, he's untouchable.

I think it will be something that builds up gradually until it "breaks the camel's back".
Trump is not going to change, his supporters or their supporters will be the ones to change.

Trump has different kinds of supporters that have different functions in the Trump political universe:
  1. Billionaires
  2. Anti-Pedos
  3. White nationalists
  4. Fox deluded clowns
  5. Other?
His supporters benefit different aspects of things:
  • As a group, he needs enough support to keep him politically viable until his drive to become an unquestionable tyrant reaches fulfillment.
  • Rich guys empower him with money.
  • Some groups seem to have specific jobs in Trump-world like White Nationalists --> ICE-like jobs. (Nice people would not be doing these kinds of jobs well for him).
  • His lackeys he has put into administration positions are needed to support his tyrannical efforts. Fortunately, a lot of them are kind of dumb and can't keep all the lies straight.

Here is a video about the recent supreme court ruling that Trump can't be free of and ignore the courts, laws, and constitution.

Trump does not yet have full authoritarian power.
The lower courts are against his pretty solidly compared with the Supreme Court. The military higher ups are not with him but are mostly going along with chain of command, but not always.
If he wants to ignore the SC in lots of cases, it will affect his public image badly.

Its all a race to the next election. If Trump does not win, congress will put some breaks on his ambitions by control of the purse strings. If he is dissing the SC it will be that much more difficult for him to get wins in that election.

Another thing is that although Trump is largely immune to prosecution (except for non-presidential job stuff which is what Jack Smith is after), all of his lackeys are quite susceptible to being prosecuted.

I think, and hope, that his narcissism is his only agenda. Woe to you if not. I fear the moment he figures out that a real war, and not only murdering Latin American fishermen, will give him the opportunities he is seeking. We aren't even done with year one!

I saw in my FB feed today
The Trump administration halted 94 million pounds of food from reaching food banks nationwide. As grocery costs soar under his tariffs, Trump cut $500 million in food aid to every state, D.C., and Puerto Rico. Cruelty is their only value.
I do not want to fact-check this; it would only make me angry. But news like this arrives daily, and if only half of them were true.... It is so sad.

The instances designed to control a single power have totally failed.

Well thankfully Trump is not medically well. Its not clear how long he will last.

The more of this shitty stuff he does to people, the more difficult obtaining electoral success will be for him.

Given our current population of about 340 million people, that's less than $2 person, which didn't sound right.

So I fact checked it and found that the $500 million is for food banks. The government shutdown is also causing all SNAP payments to be stopped, which is about $8.4 billion per month. Trump directed the food bank funds to cease. It is the government shutdown that is causing the SNAP payments to cease, so, IMHO, Trump and his minions can blame the dems, as usual, even though it's mostly Trumps fault.
