Thank you.
I am not sure the Americans have understood the gravity of the situation.
The New York Times, for example, have dutyfully reportIn a speach ed events as they unfold but, based on their sunsequent headlines, I believe they don't understand the chockwaves sent through Europe.
It is highly doubtful wheter Sweden would have joined NATO today. It seems to have changed mainly to a military weapons market completely strippedt of all purpose.
Things are dicussed along two tracks, regarding i) what has been said, e.g. about NATO, and ii) what have actually be done, and most politicians (of all colors) believe that things can't be as bad as they are in Trump's vocabulary.
In the last issue of the civil engineers newpapers. they discuss how to be independent of the cloud nd Elon Musk's Starlink.
Outside Europe, I believe Trump's plans for Gaza may put the leaders of Egypt and the Saudi Royal family in a life-threatening position, as we know that Islamist community is more sensitive to symbolic gestures, i.e. to what is said, in the first category. Trump is putting a lot of strain on these coutries' Grand Mufties. Vance's speech in Munich can be seen as a defence of the Quran burning.
