Questioning MAGA support for Trump about illegal immigration

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the contrasting views of Donald Trump's immigration policies compared to those of previous presidents, particularly Barack Obama. Key points include the assertion that Obama deported over 3 million individuals without judicial oversight, a practice that has been consistent across multiple administrations, including those of Clinton and Bush. Participants question the selective outrage towards Trump’s policies, suggesting that the perception of his actions as unprecedented is misleading. The conversation highlights a belief that Trump's supporters may be motivated by deeper psychological and tribal affiliations rather than rational policy evaluations.

I really cannot understand how MAGA can support Donald Trump.

So I remember how the Trump message is that Democrats never did anything but negative things. This meme about illegal immigration is from Ted Nugent's facebook wall (June 10) speaks loud of what MAGA heard:

So Democrats did nothing for MAGA, Trump is cleaning up. OK, let's accept that for a moment.

But lately, I've seen other reactions - still coming from the Right - about how Trump is unfairly treated about deportation of illegal immigrants because Obama did more. The following is a post from Michael McCune's facebook wall (April 19):

"🚨 𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰? 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐎𝐛𝐚𝐦𝐚, 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝟑 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝—𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝟕𝟓–𝟖𝟑% 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐚𝐰 𝐚 𝐣𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐫 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐚 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞."

Most were removed through expedited processes at the border—no court hearing, no trial.

And this isn’t unique to Obama. Under Clinton and Bush, millions were also deported without judicial oversight.

Due process? Apparently, only if a republican or Donald Trump is in charge!

So I ask you—where was all the outrage then? Where were the protests against Obama, Clinton, or Bush? This has been standard practice under many presidents before Trump.

No president in U.S. history has ever been required to get permission from the courts—or from anyone else—to defend the sovereignty of their own borders.

Why is it only a problem now?

All I can see from these info is that instead of doing nothing, Obama deported more illegal immigrants than Donald Trump, and he did so without causing any social trouble. In my mind, it means Trump is not doing a good job and if he promised to do more than Obama, he's clearly falling short.

Why would anyone who wants more deportations thinks Trump is the man for the job?

Also, as one commenter - John Mussig - said on the previous post:
So...were the democrats tough on immigration or not? Were they "importing illegals" to have them vote democrat or were they cracking down on it like you're saying here?

Also, is deporting them without due process good or bad? Y'all seem to love the way Trump's doing it, but then your post here frames it as a bad thing. What do you ACTUALLY believe?

Once you accept it just boils down to a grifting racist cult, it all makes much more sense and most rational arguments and logic don't matter. The fact that soybean farmers are still behind him is iron clad proof.

But can there be enough of them to keep him in power? Dozens of millions? No "weak links", beginning to wonder if they made a mistake, and publicly asking questions?
Sure, you'll find plenty of previous Trump voters concerned or upset about some things that are happening, but guess what. Give them another opportunity to vote for Trump or Kamala and they still stick with Trump. There are deep physiological, tribal and propaganda elements at play here.
