I don't even know where to begin with this administration being so ...Arghhh! My ire was raised when I saw the new budget yesterday on TV' and now that the Dems are allowing it to pass I think both parties have a problem. Unfortunately, I cannot find the breakdown on the internet. But some of the points are just outrageous, thoughtless, pandering to the wealthy and greedy, and just plain stupid. Tax cuts for the wealthy at the expense of the poor, disabled and veterans. WHY? And why are the Dems not fighting it, not wanting to take the blame for the shutdown? Good bye Dems.

This is all of course on top of the thoughtless cuts in federal agencies, some providing unique public services. Apparently, Musk et. al. is using AI to make decisions on these cuts. That probably as good as firing every third person that He met.

Anybody that would permit the pulling of lifesaving drugs or food from an affected population is a criminal. Oh, they are taking advantage of US[sic].

We probably all know some who help create this monstrous situation, even a close relative. I am sure they lurk in this forum too. Is it true that some humans, because they cannot compete, are disadvantaged, old, discriminated against, or disabled, must suffer for the rest of us. Those "for life" hypocrites would let others die from neglect and war, justify yourself.

Yes, it is good to be proud of your country. It is unique, formed over centuries of personal views and interactions with one another, creating a special view of life. and how it should be lived. The US is a young country formed by representatives of many others, an amalgam, hopefully bringing the best of each represented country.

Not right, or left but the best. Not me or you but us.

Trump sits on the sideline letting Musk do his dirty work and between golfing outings writing an order to remove paper straws from the FBI.

Those that I know would never hurt another human but I worry that they may permit it by ignorance, or self-interest and greed.

My children do not appreciate white privilege. They do not see it, they do not understand it. I would like them to think, therefore for the grace of God go I, but they can't.

MAGA promises to produce more suffering: more cowering masses, more poor, more ignorant, more sick, more homeless, more dead but more mean, intolerant, real men (to rule us all)

I end this rant with the quote for the series Zero Day by President Mullin (Robert De Niro) “‘Freedom’ is what allows people like you to do whatever you want. ‘Liberty’ is what protects the rest of us from people like you.”

MAGA may give America freedom. What America needs is Liberty.

White privilege is probably a misnomer.
Should have been called 'white greed' for the actions of the select self appointed status of privileged.

I don't think so. A white person moves unjudged through society, but change the color of the skin and things become more difficult, if not impossible. Maybe it is not as prominent today but it is still there.

My wife just showed me another act of disrespect for blacks, hispanics, and women veterans of note.
Arlington National Cemetery has purged dozens of pages of information about famous Black, Hispanic and female veterans from its website to comply with President Donald Trump’s diversity, equity and inclusion executive order.

The purge follows Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s declaration that “DEI is dead” as he implements Trump’s agenda at the Pentagon.

You can give mind, limb, and life for this country and not even get a little notice on a website.
An Army spokesman said efforts were being made to restore this information. Sure.

Quite a few people of colour are admired, respected for their talents.

A select self important people want to continue this charade and make others feel, as being white, that they owe others to their privilege, and of course the sociologists on a crusade.

Racism should not be confused as having some privilege.

I'm sorry but you are very very mistaken. Racism and white privilege are systematic issues that are deeply ingrained in America. It's a prevalent argument to name a few people of color that happened to be successful. Guess what, there were successful people of color in the deep south in the 1800s. If you don't think there is white privilege, then I suggest you surround yourself with more people of color. Usually people will claim such things and they have no friends or neighbors of color.

I also suggest starting to read some materials. Too often, we don't do our homework and just make assumptions about the world around us based on our narrow scopes.

I must have lived ( mixed race neighborhood ) and worked ( mixed ) in peculiar areas.
I see it differently.

My first personal experience with people of color was in my first job after the Equal Rights Amendment. I saw no racism or experienced white privilege. I had privileges because I could live wherever I wanted as long as I could afford it, I could drive without fear of being stopped by police, as long as I followed the law, I could walk through a store without being followed. I am afforded those courtesies because I am white.

My wife told me she noted in Walmart that on leaving a store, white people are more likely to be allowed to exit without having to show a receipt compared to black people.

According to Webster, privilege is a right or immunity granted as a peculiar benefit, advantage, or favor. So when I can do what others are deprived of, I am privileged.

I have seen racism first hand and up close while in the south in the sixties. White privilege is racism with a blindfold.
