USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for political analysts, international relations scholars, and anyone interested in understanding the dynamics of US foreign policy, particularly regarding NATO and the Ukraine crisis.

I would qualify that with "The current US federal administration leadership no longer shares our values"
We have street carnival here, the last days before the big 40 days lent. There are hundreds of parades with wagons that mock current policy and politicians. This was one of them:

I made two observations which should be considered here:
a) Where do you think Ukraine buys its weapons from with the US money?
b) Putin is one of the richest men in the world and Trump is notoriously bankrupt.

I couldn't find data for a) but I think a) is more a question of American subsidies than it is a question of American aid. At least, contracts could easily be formalized accordingly.

b) are just facts. Whether there is a connection between them is hard to tell.

Trump's demand for a public apology is in my opinion at kindergarten level. It can only be explained by my diagnosis: Trump suffers F60.8. And I am 100% certain that Putin knows this.

NATO and US defense companies?

Trump certainly seems to feel beholden to Russia at a financial level. Don Jr always said they have massive business interests in Russia.

Trump has plenty of psychological disorders.

SNL Did a spoof also. That meeting was an embarrassment to decent American people, people of the West, the free world. It also illustrated the fact this administration is no longer an ally to the West, certainly not to NATO.

I knew the moment Trump was winning the presidential election that Ukraine are now in even much bigger trouble and that Putin will be delighted.

That meeting was absolutely disgusting to watch.
Trump's behaviour was kind of expected, yip, that's his character to a tee. I didn't realise Vance was like that. And that right wing reporter complaining about lack of a suit.

Seems to be a pre-planned attack on Zelensky. The guy is your ally, a hero standing up to a murderous dictator who want to gather his weapons and army to expand his nation. Isn't Russia big enough already?

It seems USA is dropping out of the West alliance and into the strong man group with Putin, Xi and Kim Jong Un. All of them with expansionism ambitions.

Following the debacle of this meeting VP Vance mocked UK/France support for Ukraine in terms providing troops on the ground.

The UK is a "random" country.

Here is a thought from a friend of mine:

This may be partly explained by revenge for the Hunter Biden scandal, in which he lost. Would at least fit into his mental profile as a person driven by basic instincts instead of reason.
