SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the implications of the Many-Worlds Interpretation (MWI) of quantum mechanics and its comparison with the Transactional Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics (TSVF). The user proposes a scenario where two universes emerge: one dominated by dictators and the other by democracies, with the latter eventually establishing a Time Patrol to influence past events through quantum phenomena like the Mermin-Peres game. The user asserts that under the Born rule, the likelihood of authoritarian figures like Putin prevailing is negligible. The question posed challenges the validity of these speculations when switching from MWI to TSVF interpretation.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of Many-Worlds Interpretation (MWI) of quantum mechanics
  • Familiarity with Transactional Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics (TSVF)
  • Knowledge of quantum phenomena, specifically the Mermin-Peres game
  • Basic grasp of the Born rule in quantum mechanics
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the implications of the Transactional Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics (TSVF)
  • Explore the Mermin-Peres game and its relevance to quantum communication
  • Study the Born rule and its applications in quantum probability
  • Investigate the philosophical implications of Many-Worlds Interpretation (MWI) in theoretical physics
USEFUL FOR

The discussion is beneficial for physicists, quantum mechanics enthusiasts, and science fiction writers interested in the philosophical and theoretical implications of quantum interpretations on future scenarios.

I have a very simple idea, good at least for sci-fi novels. Currently there is a battle in the world between autocracies and Western democracies. According to MWI, some time later there will be two universes - in the first the dictators will finally win, in the second the democracies will win. But in the first universe, maybe in 22nd century, the humanity will perish in a big nuclear war; and in more prosperous second universe, in far future (maybe 2500 AD), humanity will establish the Time Patrol. The Patrol will affect the past via Mermin-Peres game (quantum pseudo-telepathy), and it will reduce the amplitude of the state |Dictators_win>. For us this means, that the probability that people like Putin will win is almost zero (according to Born rule).
Now I have a question: would these speculations be the same, if we switch from MWI to TSVF interpretation?
